I was told yesterday that I had no reverse lights working. Ruled out the fuse as the rear windscreen heater still works and is off the same fuse so thought I would check out the bulbs next. HOW DO YOU GET TO THE BULBS??? i have pulled out the felt matt revealing the grey grp cover held in with odd 3 pin black plastic things or should I remove the weather strip and the black plastic trim to access the lights? Or would it be easier (and more likely) to go straight for the switch unit at the gearbox? Any advice appreciated. Surely getting to the lights cant be that much of a pain in the a-- ? MOT due next month!!

There is rubber grommets behind the rear carpet and behind the grommets are black plastic 11mm nuts holding the rear lights in place,,,,

Several of us had issues with the switch unit on the gearbox a couple of years ago.. If I was a betting man, I'd start there.. best of luck!

Thanks for the advice. Now that the penny has dropped as to accessing the lights I,ll check them 1st. I assume a socket with a long extension and DONT DROP THE NUT, but as you suggest Dave I think I,ll start sourcing a switch unit today.

Sometimes just cleaning the switch fixes the issue.........

Mine didn't work when I first had the car. Later found a connector not connected and all ok, but not before getting a switch from the US. If it is your switch, I have a spare.

Delighted by that offer Matt. I do expect the problem to be the switch but I have no time free to check out the lights until Friday so will be in touch. Thanks again
