Hi All!

I'm a PH regular, but only tend to lurk in this forum.

Getting the itch for two wheels again and came across an imported SP2 for sale.

Any pitfalls I need to worry about? As I know my stuff re cars, but bikes i'm not so

Thanks in advance

Tuan

Imported bikes, some things to consider;

1. May not be full-power; possibly restricted for European markets.
2. KPH speedo.
3. Headlights which dip the wrong way. This would fail an MOT.
4. Oh, and left-hand drive.

'Some' euro bikes are down on power because they are not just restricted (i.e. carbs) but actually have different engines. If you look att he crankcases on imported GSXRs you'll see the differences compared to a UK bike.

Also, think about resale value. If you're buying the bike privately, consider how you ascertain who has the legal title to the bike PRIOR to parting with your hard earned. Euro wide laws now apply, which means that if it's nicked from another EU member country, they could come and get the badger back.....
