Chinese moped derestriction
Discussion
Hi,
One of my sons friends has one of these aweful Chinese mopeds that he wants to (attempt) to derestrict. It's a Force Pulse 50r HT50QT-36, That's a hell of a mouthful for a ped I know.
Does anyone in PH biker land know what would need to be done to derestrict this bit of tat ? My initial answer to him was to chuck it in a skip & get something decent, but for a 16year old it's his pride & joy and his first steps into biking.
All I know about the ped is that it's a 50cc 4 stroke twist & go and can only do just about 30mph, that's down hill with the wind behind him.
I've not worked on one of these 4 stroke peds before, (my lads have an Aprilia RS50 & Gilera DNA which are fairly easy to work on.)
Any info would be great
Thanks

Cheers Jazoli, I thought that would possibly be the case, as I can remeber back in the day when I was about that age, most of my mates & I had Fizzies & AP50's all capable of 50mph+ but the lads that had things like CB50 & Hondas & C50 Cubs which were 4 strokes could only do about 30mph
My brother ended up with a one of these which was actually quite good & is still going now 4 years later (sold to a friend who comutes on it every day!) to derestrict it there was a switch under the seat!!! would do 50mph 'just'
Normally restrictors are simply a restriction on the exhaust somewhere so best place to start is to remove it & have a look

Thanks Guys, I had thought about the Variator, (My lads Gilera DNA had a similar set up and am looking into replacing that). As for the switch under the seat ? well I'll have a look when my lads friend brings his bike back this afternoon.
It's the usual thing of any 16 year old. They want it to go fast, but with little or no finances to back it up.
Looks like if this is sucessfull, I'm going to have lots of other mopeds lining up on my driveway for me to "tinker with".

Interesting about the switch would be intrigued to see if there is such a thing.Normally restrictors are simply a restriction on the exhaust somewhere so best place to start is to remove it & have a look
Just had a look at the said ped. the only thing I could fine was a very basic electronic control unit by the battery, with 2 block connectors with a single wire coming out inbetween it.
My God it's a horrible thing to look at

My daughter had a QT50 scooter badged as Yiying; most of them have the same engine and frame, but different plastics on top depending what factory they came out of.
The restriction was a throttle stop screw that prevented the carb opening fully so it would only do 50kmh.
With it wound all the way out and the valve clearances set properly (they are bad for closing up when they are first run) it would do about 45 mph with 16 stone of me on board.
There is a pretty good website for them as well, with quite a few members and lots of advice.

I had dealings with a Baotian 50.
Open the seat
There was a cover in the bottom of the helmet holder, remove it
Take the top off of the carb ( 2 screws IIRC)
Look inside the carb cover you have removed
There is a copper "stop" which prevents the diaphragm and slide moving to the fully open position.
unscrew this "stop"
Have an over-shoulder fit with this stop and put the top back on the carb.

i have a peugeot v clic which is a 50cc 4 stroke ped when i got it. it only done 31mph but first i cut the green wire in the cdi which gave me 35mph flat and about 42mph down hill then i looked for a washer in the variator but couldnt find one. but one think that made a big differnce to the excelleration was taking out the thick air filter this also helped my ped sit comfy at 37mph
