Well the Guzzi goes on Thursday, thanks to PH, so after trying to decide between a tiger and a multistrada, I visited both shops yesterday and the Ducati showroom again this morning.

No demonstrator available but several very pleased customers there, along with a red one, a black one and a silver one on order.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, it had to be the red one didn't it.

The tiger seemed a rather heavy bike and the uglystrada is much lighter and should be more fun. Oh well - we'll see.

But at least I can now say 'I've got a Ducati!' - or I will have on Friday.

Can't wait..

Nice one indeed! I like the Multistrada, the looks have grown on me (as have the 999), only a bit dubious about the nose fairing but by all accounts it's a damn fine bike that punches well above it's weight - enjoy.

Bugger!

Insurers won't cover me as, even at 49, you need 3 years biking experience to cover it and I'm just approaching one year.

There goes the £250 deposit and looks now like either a tiger or tdm900.

Never thought that an old git like me could have this problem.

The right up in 'Bike' was a bit offputting too.

Have you tried Carole Nash. I was having a similar problem when I got my ZZR 1200 since I only had 1 year's no claims. Carole Nash got me insurance without a problem.

Thanks guys.

Used Ducati Insurance line and was quoted £564.00 so problem appears to be solved.

So I will still have a Ducati - not that the Tiger is a second placed option, its a cracking bike too!!

Pick it up Friday morning - can't wait.......

Just picked it up and wow!

If I could just get those mirrors adjusted right, I'd be laughing.

What a bike!

So quiet that you won't hear me coming

You can get aftermarket exhausts (Termis) fitted at the first service £800 including the chip.

Picked her up Friday and didn't get out at the weekend, so just commuting for the moment.

Very impressed so far!

It is bloody dear so hesitated on ordering them, but it is tempting.

I'm really impressed with the bike and I no longer think that its ugly.

The problem is that, on our site, there's a motorcycle training school and the examiners keep asking to borrow it - mind you they all come back raving about the handling.
