After 22 years as a RoSPA advanced motorcycle examiner, and having set up, established and run the RoSPA National diploma in advanced motorcycle instruction 10 years ago which also has a Btec accreditation, I have today resigned

I won't go into the reasons why I have left, except to say that the safety of us instructors/examiners on the diploma course was being compromised in favour of bums on seats (although it is also a bit political).

Anyway, it does feel strange being an advanced examiner/instructor without portfolio!

I doubt it! Although I know Graham Owen (who owns Ride/drive) very well (we served together in the Police) I think he is after full time instructors as opposed to part time, and anyway he couldn't pay me anything like I earn now!

Apart from running a few training courses during the year, it is actually going to be quite nice to have a complete break from training/examining. I started instructing in 1977 and examining in 1982 and have done so ever since, so it will be good to recharge the old batteries.
