But which one?
Discussion
Think I may have sold the Guzzi and, true to form, am now regretting letting go.
Thinking about possibly:
BMW R1150R or the new R1200GS
A Yamaha TDM900 or maybe a Triumph Tiger
I prefer the riding position more to having to lean too far forward and in a cramped leg position.
Any thoughts - anyone please?

the GS is a great bike that can keep up with GSXR thou's & blades down the twisties. The new 1150 RT has linked brakes and a new 6 speed box. Both are very comfy and offer good wind protection. You may find the big boxer twin strange to ride from tickover, as it always feels as if they want to fall over. The GS is OK on mild trails as well - but bloody heavy - and not as fast as my CRF450 (100kg, 55hp)

Tiger !! but then i'm biased.
come one over to www.tigerlist.org/
and we'll persuade you some more (or read Aprils Bike magazine, as there's a road test of the sorts of bikes you're looking at.)
Put a new rear tyre on my 99 tiger yesterday. the bloke over at roadwheel has a 1150R (with a chipped engine and a remus boxer cup exhaust...sounds very un-BMW like

Fully loaded tigs(panniers heated grips centre stand) now retail for just under 7K, whereas the BM's are several grand more. The resale value of BMWs are very good though.
