These sessions are well worth attending. I took Gareth Tuffery out on a "The Edge" assessment 18 months ago. He was very frustrated that, as a Road Safety Officer, he was up against a very anti-bike agenda. I'll be there on Monday, as an IAM bike Member, but also as a personal biker. If we don't have a say, how can we whinge when policy is made for us?

Surrey CC...don't make me laugh! If the c*nts filled in a few pot holes around Kingston it would be a starter - THE WORST ROAD SURFACES IN THE UK - PERIOD.

They always seem to have the time and money for any new speed hump idea though - w*nkers the lot of 'em!

Guess you may have realised this is a sore point with me.

If either of you are going perhaps you can ask why they spent £1000's on that stupid bumpy red tarmac outside Tiffins Girls School in Kingston - which rattled my bike to bits - only to resurface it smooth again 2 months later. The potholes around the corner however just get deeper.

BTW, I spoke to the workmen laying it and suggested that it was thought to be dangerous re: the abs debate on this very board - only to be told it was recommended by the TRL.

Unfortunately I'll be abroad (enjoying much smoother tarmac) Boy, I'd like to be there!

The terms 'rocket' and 'arse' spring to mind!

I'm not going to be able to make these but who do I get in touch with to make a point about Surrey road surfaces?
I live right on the border of Surrey/Sussex in Horley and we seem to be the worse of the bunch, my local roads are just unbelievable, I would love to take one of these people for a pillion ride around my local roads.

i went to the meeting on Monday (8th) about training. Lots of talk, lots of hot air from "interested parties". Next week they hope to have someone from their Highways Dept to explain road-surface policy
