New Toy - 954 Fireblade
Discussion
After selling my beloved Chim i thought that i could survive without a 'Toy' for a few months before returning to TVR ownership.
Sadly it didnt last long and to be honest, ive been looking for a while for a nice low mileage 2002 model 954 Fireblade in Red/Black.
I found it and its now in my garage.....2,000 genuine miles and in showroom condition. I guess that you could say that i was there at the right time and purchased from a private seller.
Is there anyone else out on the Forum with a similar bike.
Just need some nice weather now!

George, Nice bike.......Looks nice in Yellow too.
Have you had any problems with it. Mines got 2 months warranty left and i want a dealer to have a good look at it in the hope that anything thats not quite right can be fixed before the warrant expires.
Cant stop sitting on it, and really the only thing that needs doing to it is to clean the chain...its really dirty. The rest of the bike is superb and it hadnt been ridden for 11 months, thats why its such low mileage.

Absolutely no problems (I've done 7.5k in 1 year).
The 2002 model should have had the head-stock bearings replaced with roller as opposed to......errrr......the other type (at the factory, as opposed to a recall - a dealer should be able to tell you this) that were fitted to earlier models & had the bike press either loving the flapping bars, or hating it for tank-slappers.
I got a recall for the OE exhaust hanger bracket (apparently some came loose under extreme conditions) last year, but won't get it done 'till the 8k service.
BTW - I bought mine from a Honda dealer friend oop north, so if you want any ahem........info - let me know & I can see what he can dredge up
Only trouble I do have - which I had on the ZX (so it's nowt to do with the blade) is glazed pads up front......I'm not sure what causes this, but it may be because I use it for commuting too - fun
Completely standard except:
Honda seat hump / Harris exhaust bracket / Harris carbon hugger / Ohlins damper / Fabbri d/bouble screen (light tint).......which WILL cause clock-melt on this bike given the ideal conditions & (lowish) elevation of the sun !!!!

George,
Thanks for the info......wouldnt mind a tinted screen tho.
My Fabbri looks OK, but doesn't really provide a huge amount more wind protection....possibly the same with all sports bikes nowadays I am wondering whether to put the OE screen on for a bit just to see.

The man i bought it from gave me a seat hump, purchased when he bought the bike and which has never been fitted.
Brill.......that's saved you £150
