ok I have been off bikes for 7 months, and had a 300kg cruiser for 6 months before that. NOw I have a mega light SV650, and I have a 3/4 inch of unused rubber on the back tyre....... how far are you peeps leaning at the moment? I can't get my head around how far I used to lean !!!!!!!!

....but I am trying to get back there ASAP.

My SV came with Metzler Z4's on. Horrible tyres in the wet. The Bridgestone 020s that replaced them have been a revelation and they're only a touring tyre! I still have chicken strips but I only really commute on the bike and have plenty to learn.

In the cold im ok if its dry. I'm only a chicken when its wet. Feels like my muscles tense up and i can't leans as i feel like im going to slide.
Still need more experiance though, only started riding in Oct 2003.

When I can finally get an ounce of heat into the Supercorsas on a dry day, I seem to manage a comfortable lean angle; however, not any where near the summer-time lean. Just thinking about this, I feel that I lean off the bike a lot more in the winter, maybe just to keep warm by moving around the bike more? The tyres take a lot longer to heat up, especially at towards the edges and tends to feel 'looser' than when I was riding in the warmer months. Could be partially psycological mind!!

Oh yeah the chicken strips were reduced to around 2mm in the summer. I have now got a blue strip about 7mm away from the edge??? Any reason for this?

On the Tiger (with Metz. tourances), off the edge in the dry, within and inch of the edge in the wet, depending on what sort of wet it is.

Unless spilt oil is involved !

Anyway, how far to lean in the wet? Just a little bit less than when you fall off!!!!!!

All the way. Still get rubber melting on the edge of the tyre.

On the other hand, my bike is about 60kg lighter than yours.
