Well riding home last night and heard a bit of a pop, and then the Db went up about 100Db, got home and the exhaust down pipe had blown itself a new outlet about the size a ping pong ball tried bodging it up this morning but that lasted about a mile and now I've got a very loud, ever slower bike
Just phoned the only impoter of bits and a new down pipe section is going to be £250 and he's still waiting for the one he ordered last April and the MOT is due in just over a month
So how can I fix this a bit better than it is now and will it pass an MOT with a bodged exhaust, the hole ir right on a bend but not to far from the opening so welding it up might be an option but the existing metal is a bit on the rusty side

Sounds like you need a new zorst. Welding rust isn't really an option.
Having said that I did once have a problem with the balance pipe between the 2 sides of a 4-2-1. Part of it had rusted away so I cut a baked bean can to size, bolted it in place with a U-bolt then sprayed it black to match the rest of the zorst. No probs getting it through the MOT.

What bike is it? Surely there is more than one place available to get a replacement. There's ALWAYS somewhere else to get stuff from, it's just finding it...

Yep Cagiva SuperCity 125 99 V plate

The only place to get anything major from seems to be 3 Cross Motorcyles who are the importers, but at £250 and a 'don't hold your breath for it ever arriving' time scale I've got to sort something else out
It's coming off tonight and the welding boys will see what they can do, but it's a bit of a mess

Have you tried any of the breakers yards that are listed on the net

for example, they don't have your specific bike but

www.cheshiremotorcyclesalvage.com/acatalog/

have cagiva exhausts listed (full systems) for about 80 quid.

Here's somewhere that list a fair few..

Not to worry, cheers for trying
It is at this momment in the welding booth, and with a bit of luck the chaps will do their magic on it and it'll come out looking fine
