Been discussed before but I think the cans on my Ducati need repacking, as I understand that if the packing falls out then the heat/pressure can damage the can itself (Termignoni Carbon-Fibre).

Does anyone know where I can get the correct packing material from, how much it costs etc.? ….. I’m assuming loft insulation is no good

For my renegade can it's £15. Renegade might either be able to tell you what to use or do it for you - I'm guessing getting it done by a Ducati dealer is a multiple of that price.

£15, was that to do it or just supply the kit?, I'm sure a Ducati dealer would want big money to do it but I intend to do it myself, just need the materials.

JHP sell the 'official' Termignoni kit @ £53.38 plus VAT per can = £125.44 this includes the material, gauze, bands and rivets. (I saw a pair of new cans at the BMF for £250)

Contacted an independant Ducati specialist who sells a pack of exhaust wadding for £12 (also very reasonable on servicing , tuning etc) Now thats more like it

Well I've got round to actually doing the job all repacked, rebuilt etc.

The wadding was fairly intact at the 'exit' ends but had burnt thin at the 'in' ends but luckily no damage to the C/Fibre.

A useful 'tip' from a Bike Mech I know: after fitting the wadding, overwrap it with Aluminium tape (plumbers merchant) as it is more heat resistant than the paper 'masking tape' that Termignoni use and so helps protect the C/Fibre from heat when the wadding goes again.

Total cost, about £17 much better than the £125 that the Ducati dealer wanted

Anyway, get it all polished tommorow (hopefully) and all back together by the weekend, along with new front tyre and a good clean in time for a :walletemptying: service.

Bring it on!
