All I can say is: oh my god.

Alright, I'll explain. 7 months confined to 4 wheels, after 5 months on a pig-iron construction kids caracture of a motorcycle.

And then, a bike that weights half as much.

Oh my god. Dry road.

7C.

Dry road........

Traffic is now just something you go past, not something you sit in.

Wow.

To think I gave this up? well sometimes you need to try stuff, even if it doesn't work out. And then you know where you are really better off.

I heard sportscars were supposed to give the thrill of biking. Well I can tell you, THEY DO NOT.

Not even the fastest car compares with the thrill of a fairly cheapo bike like my SV.

Argghhh! Ican't tell you how excited I am at rediscovering the game. Yeah it's dangerous, so what. So's breathing traffic fumes.

I live 'til I die. Better a tiger than a donkey.

Keep it shiney side up folks. Hertsbiker is back.

Glad to hear normal service is resumed.
I was working from home yesterday so the SV stayed tucked up in the garage, and what a crappy day, I went out in the tin box in the evening and it was like being in some kind of storm at sea, I couldn't even see the road half the time!

And then this morning its perfectly dry, traffic is light and I have a decent blatt into work with no fear of sliding down the road on the bends, yummy.

Tell me about it Mags. I rode home through that. Today was a breath of fresh air. Lovely ride in, listening to my renegade sound track.

Steve.

I'm sort of in a transition phase going from lightweight kit car to bike at the moment. Fedup of being too low to the ground to overtake on the road !!

Found that hurtling around on an airfield was as enjoyable as riding the bike.
On the road though, car is boring in comparison.

I say this as someone who's riding doesn't currently do the bike justice. More bike time as soon as weather improves should mean the intimacy of bike riding becomes tops.

so herts you got an SV1000? I was reading in perf bikes, they hit 60 quicker than a GSXR, only slighty slower to 100, and stop faster too.

Nod bad for a bike thats sold as a commuting tourer.

don't worry chaps, the 650 hits 60 quicker than 90% of all the bikes out there - check the figures in BIKE magazine.

I wanted the 650 'cos of the lower insurance + running costs.

I can swap the g'box sprocket for a smaller one, and fit a Blue FLame road-legal twin outlet (with removable baffles!!!) for about £250. That'll drop the top speed a touch, but the acceleration will be awesome.

The fork springs can be next on the list, when they wear a bit.

Trust me - the 650 ain't a slow coach, I had one before, and it terrorised many a big bike.

glad to be back.
