Aside from any extra value you wish to add to the value of your bike with the insurers, do suspension upgrades affect your premium? I'm thinking of Race-tech cartridge emulators in the forks + a nitron rear shock with springs matched to my weight.

not that you can take this as law, but if it can't be easily seen... don't worry.

Most mods affect premium because they make the machine more appealing. If it appeals to you, it will be more stealable to someone else. eg, up goes your premium.

If you have a 100bhp bike, a mod that makes it 101bhp won't increase the premium - race can logic here.

I 'spose new susp *might* make you corner harder, so more risk of a crash. Then again, it might prevent a crash too!

Why not get a ficticious mate to ask your company?

I declared my ohlins bits when I upgraded but the insurers weren't interested, with it having no effect on the performance (BHP) of the bike.

Steve

I had problems with one insurer when I spoke about the front ohlins because they were categorised as Race and Track Fork by ohlins- They wouldn't insure me. However take the appraoch that you are setting the bike up for the larger frame (Large or tall...)to make the ride say less harsh and they are fine. You shouldn't have any problem if you are only changing the internals- Wouldn't even bother to tell them.
