My Sprint ST has stood on its side stand for the last few weeks and when i came to move it at the weekend it started pouring out oil from the area of the rear shocker. Could leaving it standing on the side stand have caused a shocker leak or could the oil have been lying there and run off a ledge when I stood the bike up vertical.
Any ideas, the oil was quite thin and a yellowy colour.
I will admit to the engine oil being over full from a recent service but that's thicker and a browner colour.
If it's a shocker can they be repaired, how much is a new one and is there any alternatives that are better or cheaper.
Thanks all.

It left a puddle about the size of a saucer on the path, was fresh looking quite yellow in colour and quite thin. Now i did soak the chain in GT85/wd40 stuff, it could have congregated on the rear arm I suppose, but surely that would have evapourated. I did about 25 miles after the service. It's not out of the scott oiler though, wrong colour

i would'nt think wd40/gt85 is good for chains! to clean them use parafin or degreaser then oil it or if its of the bike use chain wax.

thanks Ninja, actually I did oil it to but gave it a good GT85 first to sort of clean off the last of the crud.
Been oto the T595.net site, there seems to have been a few similar cases at around the 20k miles mark. Spooky...
