well, 69bhp is quite a lot compared to a big fat offroader! - and I just can't wait. Then again, the thou is only 5K.... but you know why I gave up the first 2 times? - going too fast. So the 650 is fine. And I'd place money on being able to keep up with an R1 after 6 months. Maybe only 135, but I know that I can keep up a higher corner speed !! and no stupid wheelies. Wish me luck peeps, the missus is not looking too amused about all of this. But f**k it, my money. But don't tell her I said that !!!

keep it shiney side up folks.

Thats true enough about keeping with quicker bikes. on my Bandit (79bhp & 210k) managed to keep with far quicker bikes, on the straights they blew me away, but on the curvy bits I managed to claw them back (Upset a few Blades over the past 8 months or so )

Wot colour you getting?

Welcome to the SV fold.
I think you will find it a fun bike, not exactly a sports bike but its low down grunt and lightweight make it fun enough for me.

You have to de-plate the back though, the '03 SVS has the most fugly plate/indicator mount I have ever seen, and get a decent can too to release the lovely v-twin roar.
I'm not a fan of the angular looks and the optional lower fairing is a bit ugly too but for £4K you get what you pay for.
You might find sv650.org useful too.

i've had one on hire for 4 weeks after getting knocked off by VFR 750, and i'm impressed, std can sounds great
much more throaty than my VFR, ultra light, quick steering very modern design, with a willing motor.

Hire charge is £55/day chargeable to the turd party

got it. Well, Saturday I hope.
£3999otr, faired model.

Just as well, someone f**ked the back of my Shogun, so that'll be in repair shop for a week.

There are so many tweaks for the SV, and my insurance is nice'n'cheap + allows race cans & stuff !

Nice one Carl. My insurance are cool about cans too - no power increase, means no premium increase. Have been considering getting the bike setup for me with new springs, catridge emulators and a singly adjustable rear shock from Nitron. Oh and the Ally Pally show is only a few weeks away. Happy days.

Steve.
