thinking of getting a Buell XB12R as Ive allways had Jap inline 4 sportsbikes an now fancy something different

Ive heard about the clunky gearboxes and belt problems (tho these have been sorted on the XB12's apparantly) any other things to look out for?

Get all the info you want from

These bikes are completely different from Japanese bikes so don't expect reliability, good customer service and maintenance free riding...you will not get it. Buell have a habit of letting their customers do the testing of their products and then issuing a recall and fix.

I test rode an X1. Loved it, except the zorst grounds out easily when 2-up. Lovely engine & handling. Brakes a bit whoooaaaa! please stop.

Cool bike, if you don't thrash too hard, it'll do. If you like revs, buy Jap.

You may find the transition from in line Jap fours hard to manage the Buell is for tiny people, but great fun to ride.
