Bikers get new website from MCI advising how to off road legally

The Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCI) has launched a new website to help motorcycle riders who are looking to get into the world of off-road biking.

It includes info on finding a suitable and legal place to ride and recommendations about joining local clubs who know the law relating to off roading more thoroughly.

Andy Carlile, MCI's Motorcycle Sport Coordinator said, "Off-road biking is a legitimate and fun sport which also presents many social and educational opportunities. Unfortunately some participants are damaging its reputation. The MCI is committed to improving the reputation of off-road motorcycling and providing the necessary information to help interested new riders participate in a fun and exciting sport .

All of the featured sports sectors provide a description of the activity and venues. It explains how to get involved, what to wear and to where to buy vital protective clothing. Guidance on buying bikes and how to avoid stolen vehicles also features. A list of useful contacts is also provided for each sport.

Great site, started toying with the idea of buying a trial bike earlier in the year, and am back on track now for getting one and possibly a snotter for trailing, which looks great fun. I've had many 4x4s and enjoyed off roading as part of work and play. Not quite sure how i'll get on on two wheels off road though!!
