Try looking at the bemsee website on www.bemsee.co.uk and post the same message in one of the forums there. You could also try new ERA, or EMRA or any other number of clubs. MRO is not the place to start! www.clubracing.co.uk and www.roadracers.co.uk. I think a KR1S may end up last in every meeting, but will be cheap to run. If you want budget racing, try racing an MZ for a year. It may sound stupid, but half the riders who race these will whip road riders on GSXR1000s (all the gear - no idea....).

Good luck, give it a go. Budget on a MINIMUM of £3k for the year (excl. bike & setup).

I agree with fergus, If you need help Dave and Bernie are very helpful at BEMSEE. It aint cheap old chap, but its great. I started racing RD250LC's (they do a yamaha past masters now with TZR250s mainly) which other than MZ's was the cheapist and i reaconed on about £3500 but theres nothing to say you cant do only half the meetings you just wont have a chance in the championship.

They do a mini twins chamionship now which Bennyboysvuk has just started in on a sv650, which is regulated so thats another reasonable class.

Be prepaired to throw money away though, and you will, lots, and you just cant scrimp.

Good luck.

Hey there Ninjaboy,

I think the major cost for racing is gonna be the tyres. I'm budgeting on £1800 for tyres next season Which means I don't even get a new set per round.

The entry fee for each round varies too. I think there's 18 rounds in the minitwins class and the fees are between £80 and £160-ish per round. The good thing about the SV racing is that the horsepower is limited which means that you don't end up having a highly strung engine that needs rebuilding every other round.

Let me know if you want any more info.
