Hi there all. At the start of 2003 i took my full bike license (been riding for 4 years now) and purchased myself a brand new Gilera Runner VXR 200cc scooter. Its just a work bike and gets me to london ever day and i bought it due to the cheap running.

Anyway, its had its 1st service and the fuel pump ahd to be replaced. But (Dont laugh) its lost a lot of performance bottom and top end but gain performance mid range since the service. I've lost around 8mph top end which doesn't sound much, but the difference from 80mph to nearly 90mph is damn annoying.

HAs anyone got any ideas as to why this could be?

Check the airfilter. If it's a foam one and has been oiled it may have been over oiled.

its to do with the mixtures fuel vs air. if its carb they may need adjusting, air filter as suggested

basically it sounds like its getting too much fuel and over choking itself.

Thats what i'd have thought, but the air filters fine.

Its a real paint, spent all this money buying the top of the range model, only to get thrashed bottom end by the 125cc versions (2 stroke opposed to my 4 stroke).
