I'm thinking of starting to seriously advertise my bike for sale. Couple of questions if you don't mind:
1) It's a dry weather only bike, should I wait until spring to sell it?
2) It's due a service. Do I service it before selling?
3) Where, other than PH classifieds and Autotrader should I advertise it?
cheers,
DJ

DJ, not an easy time to sell a bike at present. I have been trying to sell mine, but haven't had any luck. In about 8 weeks i've seen the prices drop on my cbr around £500. First ask yourself what it will cost to keep it over winter & will you use it? No point keeping it to sell for a couple of hundred more in spring, if it costs loads to insure over the winter. Same with it's service, get it done if it's cheap. Obviously it's going to be more attractive recently serviced. Advertising wise, www.biketrader.co.uk www.findit.co.uk www.motorcyclenews.com/bikemart www.adtrader.co.uk & maybe www.ebay.co.uk (gets good coverage), but be aware of cheapskates & timewasters.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I'm trying to sell both mine, sold the Husky, bloke gave a 50 quid deposit then on collection day foned to say sorry cant have it, 5 weeks ago that was, had 9 people come to see it, one bloke pissed me about then offered me 1500 when I had it up for 2000, just reduced it to 1800, try your local freeads.
It's currently advetised in the classifieds with all of the required information in there. It's up for 2,250 which I thought was more than reasonable. Several have been through ebay in the last 3/4 months in a lot worse condition for 2k+ so I was just thinking of putting it on there.
