What were the reasons?I,ve just finished the training on the 500cc and my test is on Friday.Done two mock tests today, forgot one bloody lifesaver,i was distracted for one second by a suicidal looking dog running toward the side road i was just about to turn into ,i was really pissed off,i never done anything else wrong.I can fully understand the importance of lifesavers but i was a bit surprised how easy it is to fail, just a seconds distraction by a potential hazard(scatty mutt)and thats it,i've blown it.It's really put doubts in my mind now:-(

I failed first time, cr@p decision by exmainer basically told to use "bike power" to overtake a slow truck in a 40mph dual carriageway when cars were wizzing past me a 50mph (what a tosser). In other words chap wanted to fail me, (partly due to a cock up regarding bookings meaning he had to test me instead of having a break) found an excuse, so did so. Of course their decision is final even though I pointed out that to use "bike power" would have meant pushing myself into faster moving traffic. BTW you can fail on missing a life saver if it was hazardous.

Passed it second time though, different examininer with brain connected. These things happen even if you fail keep ringing and then you should be able to get a retest quite quickly (about a month)

I think that you are allowed up to 4 minor errors. Putting your foot down on a u-turn is an instant failure though, unless the examiner will allow you a second attempt.

I missed a couple of life-savers and still passed first time, so don't be disheartened. Rest assured that, once you pass, life savers will become the norm for you.

I failed first time.

Indicated too early at a roundabout then stopped at a *green* filter light!!!

What a t*sser!

Passed the free retest though.

Rospa traiing seems a little harder. Making progress and making safe progress are two different things. I'm gonna have to learn that some overtakes *aren't* on!

failed first two by putting foot down on U-turn. Good luck, I'm sure you'll let us know how you get on...

yeah, dont panic, the pass rate is very high, you can get away with6 minor points I believe

I got told "remember your indication" after failing to switch it off after a turn.

I still passed ! the instructor accepted that as it was very cold, I had proabably tried to turn it off, and he hadnt actually "told" me to turn it off...

I guess it just depends on the day. just relax and enjoy the ride.

edit to say: try and book a cancellation or retest anyway now, you can always cancel it when you pass!

I concurr. Don't worry! If it's DAS you will prolly get a free retest but 85 per cent pass anyway!

(No excuse for dabbing on the turn in the road though!)

when I did mine (3 days) I'd been riding fine up until the afternoon before the test, then failed 2 mocks that afternoon and couldn't U-turn the next morning before the test either.

Anyway passed ok, just stay calm, keep chekcing the speed limits and try and know the area of your test.
For mine there are a couple of really long windy one way streets where they like to get you to turn right at the end, hoping you've forgotten that they are one way so you should be on the right hand side of the road (hence the 2 failed mocks). I'm sure it'll all come together on the day.
