Anyone had one please and any thoughts?

Got BMW F650 GS and toying with the idea of one of these instead now as a progression.

The Funduro has been a very forgiving and great first bike and I am reluctant to sell her, but like the look of the tiger and the thought of a Triumph.

I had one as a loan bike a few weeks ago. Great engine with a broad spread of torque, excellent steering lock, better than it looks at going through traffic. I didn't have enough time to get comfortable with the lean angles but I didn't have any moments. Very comfy riding position. The only real problems I found were that it was very tall, I'm 6 foot with a 32 inside leg and I'd be on tippy-toes most of the time, which makes very slow speed manoeuvres and filtering exciting, and there was a fair bit of wind noise and turbulence around my helmet from the screen.

I'm only 5 ft 10in so may well have the same problem reaching the ground, but I already have the wind noise problem anyway with the BMW.

I'll try one locally and see how it goes as I do have to filter most days and sometimes at very slow stop/start speeds. I'd feel a right pratt if I fell off!

My brother bought one new about 18 months ago and has had no end of problems, including a top end blow up, a collapsed rear wheel bearing and an exploding (!) front disc. My honest advice would be to look elsewhere...

I've had one for the last 6 months and it hasn't missed a beat. Really easy to ride (except for slow stuff if you're not tall) and can keep up with pretty much anything. You can get to some ridiculous lean angles ! Also 4 or 5 hours in the saddle is comfy.

Heard a couple of stories about reliability problems with the tiger and wonder if it's worth changing over at this time.

The BMW has ABS and heated grips and has only done 5k miles so I may leave it till the Spring and then try a few other bikes.

Thanks for your comments anyway.

your best bet is to ask at www.t595.net. my daytona has the same base engine, and its very powerful.

Also had a loaner tiger and was very impressed, though definitely tippy toes at 5' 10 in London commuting! Getting back on the speed triple the seat felt like a plank - but no screen to hide behind is definitely the right choice for the licence :-)
