Anyone got / recommend a good lap timer. The sort i'm after is the beacon type with the display that mounts on the yoke/ clock surround. Best value so far is one similar to one in demontweeks for £200, this one is for £180 ish from A & R Racing (MCN ads and Bemsee paddock). I already have a stopwatch!

Cheers AJ

Eer the chobham roundabout!

I'm doing brands on wednesday :jumpforjoy: and i wanted to time myself more acuratly as apposed to the old fashioned stopwatch with someone who forgets/ doesnt watch you coming/ button sticks /times someone else/ cant be arsed etc etc!

It will be usefull if i race next year or even if i dont just doing track days to see if i'm on pace really. Not sure if i'll get one on time now anyway

Are you going on the R6 or do you have an SV lined up?

Are you swinging by my place tonight?

I think the boys with the RS250's that I was sharing my pit garage with at Brands were using ones that they got for around 150 quid. A & R racing were selling them at the circuit.

I'm going on the R6, the sv i told you about got sold to Stan Stevens boy, b*stard! Althought there is another one which needs putting together i may put an offer in for?

Re tonight i'm out with friends in guildford at the new Thai restrant looks over the town. So depends what time that ends? May pop in if i'm not too late if thats okay?

Saw Nutcase in the gym last night said you'd taken his MR2 out last night, did you leave any tread on it??!!

954,

is it one in the shape of a chicken, if so i may borrow it! I could set it at say 55 seconds and see if the bell rings before or after the finish line!!

Yep, I was very conservative, however a couple of nights before I found that it spins up in 3rd gear in the wet on constant throttle! The consistent sidewayness that you can provoke in the wet is just fantastic. Just call me Carlos Sainz. Not sure about the dry yet. There's a reasonable chunk of grip to overcome before it slides and the chassis feels a bit boingy. Nutcase, can you tame it???
