Well I've just been running through a few bike quotes for myself 30, No NCB, been riding a 125 for 6 months and all 600ish naked bikes, monster/sv650/hornet/etc come out at between £150-£200 TPFT

Did mine at 49 and for a BMW F650 GS, I'm paying about £260'ish fully comp with Carole Nash.

should be quite reasonable for you, my supersport, with no NCB, and a claim already fully comp is £800
thats with legal and breakdown. so you should get in the £200 mark.

Try H&R - they were pretty good for me as a newbie biker, went straight onto the SV with no experience. £700 fully comp in Greater London area including commuting, no one else got close to their price.

Rumple me ole mukka,

Insurance is a mystery & has not much rhyme or reason to it..... it will be difficult to give you an idea because it all depends on your claims history, bike, area you live in, cover, security devices fitted to your bike, garaged, etc etc,

Clickquote (as suggested above) will give you a ball park figure - but I know people who have had very different quotes when they have phoned them up to take up the deal that comes up on the website.

Good Luck!! it's a jungle out there!

I got a pretty good deal from H&R as well.

Yam XJR1300, fully comp incl breakdown cover, no no-claims as I've not been on a bike for 14 years, worked out to just over £600

Try their website www.insurance2000.co.uk

You can enter what your details will be once you've passed your test and see how the figures work out.

You can also see how your choice of bike is reflected in the policy price. I originally wanted a ZZR1200, but the quote for that was about £1300, which is one of the reasons I ended up with the XJR1300, (at least until I've built up some no-claims!).

My GPz cost about £800 from H&R. Age 29 & no ncb. Changed up to a Speed Triple 900cc and the insurance went from £800 to about £1300 but only cost me about £100 as the policy had about 2 months to run. Got a renewal for £1200 but another company will do me for £560. All fully comp and just turned 30 so quite a reduction.

i wasn't to happy to see £1900+ for a 125cc fully comp. I think that TPFT was half of that but thats still £800(ish)! then again being 22 and with no NCB i don't think that the insurance companies are going to like me yet. TPO is a better £250. still expensive though for a 125.
Anyone know of a cheaper insurance company for young'ens like me?

Well after a whole day of ringing around and playing one company off another i managed to get the insurance from a whopping £1900+ to £311.91 for TPFT, though there is a 200 squid excess :-(
The Lowest Price that i got was from CIA Insurance. They quoted me £300 preimum and excess of £350 (excess was a bit steep)
Not bad for someone that has no NCB and only a provisional licence
