Righto as some of you may know I've mashed the RVF.
It will be fixed but I like the idea of a new bike. Brand new, no hassle and nice and shiney.

My insurance renewal isn't until next summer but today I found myself in the Harley dealership looking at Buells.

The salesman started one up (with a race exhaust system) and oh the noise. Nice.
I somehow like the idea of a bike that delivers its power as torque not revs. Its like the TVR of the bike world.
And I like the belt drive and the looks.

Does anyone on here have one? What do you all think of them?

It would only be the new flashy one I'm interested in (the old ones don't interst me) the XB9 (sports bike varient, not the streetfighter).

I really shouldn't be contemplating this before I've even fixed the bike I've got.

I really miss riding, its been a right pain being down in England with all this fantastic weather and NO BIKE.
AAARRRGGGG.

Ah well its my own fault for crashing it.

Apparently handle quite nicely if I remember the reviews. If you enjoy riding it, I say go for it. Each to their own (as long as you don't want one of those Harley Lady Boy jobbies )

I have a soft spot for 'em my self, but if you are in the market for a grunty unfaired bike you have seriously got to look at-

-Truimph speed triple- (which would probably get my vote)
-Aprilla Toneou (sp)
-Kwak z1000

or for half the price of 'em all a Bandit 12 with a buell cyclone fly screen (like wot I has got on my 600)

All the above have a heap more grunt than the Buells..... the Tuono 'R' got a fab write up recently - ......if I was a bit bigger (perhaps like Iggys latest photo of me!!) then I'd go 'priller

Not a big fan of the Kwak (also its a 4 cyl bike), and I don't like Triumphs much.
That leaves the Aprilla.

The thing is I'm not really into the horsepower race so I don't need/want the most powerfull bike I can afford.
Handlings what I'm really intersted in (and of course the noise...)

Still, next summer is a long way off and I can't get the bike until I've got one years NCB.

I'm just hoping that emmissions legislation doesn't kill off big twins like the Buell.

Ducati have already put cats in their new 999 and for me that kind of spoils the sound. It also adds to the cost of the bike and makes it suseptible to cat failure (expensive!) and MOT emmission failures.

Didn't they have to recall every single one they'd made a couple of years back? I'd be a bit concerned about that, personally.

T'was me that started the other thread, I didn't buy one in the end, sense got the better of me (bugger, I must be getting old)
It wasn't gonna work for 20k miles a year mostly m'way (yawn) so I didn't but I woudl dearly love one.
You need to take it for a test ride, Its quite small and I was a little too long in the leg for it but I have never smiled so much on an hours ride

Buells to my knowledge are expensive and unreliable they are a laugh to ride and sound great but trust me the don't even come close to a speed triple!
