I made the mistake of going for a 2 piece oversuit that doesn't squash down that small, so has to be carried in a rucksack, or cargo-netted to the back seat.

Given my time again, I'd definitely seek out the type that folds down very small and can be strapped around the waste, or indeed put under the seat.

But then it probably depends on what you want them for, as mine are more waterproof than most.

If your looking for something that you can whip on when caught in a shower, or when travelling longer distance in lightish rain, then go for the small packaged type. If you want something that will keep you dry in a typhoon, then get the Hein Gerichte (spelling?) ones like mine.

Do you mean waterproof protective gear to go over everyday clothes? Or waterproofs to go over your leathers?

If the former, go see the Hein Gericke range, I've got the Voyager GORE-TEX suit which I've commuted in through most of last winter (and most of this year too, it's so convenient to just step out of it at work!)

If the latter, then you'd be dryer with a 1-piece. Try the "RIDE recommended" Spada 406, I used that over my leathers last year until it got too cold. Easy to get on (as long as you've got a plastic carrier bag with you) and kept me very dry. Folds up into it's own pocket and has a belt that becomes a waist strap.
