Ducati Launch Matrix Specials

Limited edition 998 and Monster to commemorate use in the Matrix Reloaded

Ducati has announced that it is teaming up with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to produce a limited edition Ducati 998 and Ducati Monster 620i.e., each inspired by The Matrix Reloaded.

The bikes will be available in 2004 at Ducati dealerships around the world.

"Ducati is thrilled to be a part of this hugely exciting film franchise ," said David Gross, Ducati Creative Director. "The Matrix Superbike and the Monster Matrix 620 capture all of the thrill of high performance sport motorcycling and the spirit of The Matrix. Sport bikes and blockbuster movies just don't get any bigger than this ."

Isn't this just a little bit on the late side? If the bikes won't be available until 2004 they will have missed the rush on the film launch, hell - they'll have missed the rush on the DVD/Video launch!

Still a nice looking bike though

They're probably just trying to clear the remaining 998's following the launch of the 999.

Expect to see some more "Special Editions"

Still no where near as sexy as the 916 Senna...

Why is that then? All 916/996/998's should be red. Tis the way of the world.

If this isn't being released until then, why don't they do it to coincide with the Matrix-Revelations sequal to piggy-back on the publicity?

Makes no sense I tell you
