Just thought you all needed to know this.
I was out over the August bank holiday with a group of friends touring the Welsh mountains on the bikes,
to be precise we were in the black mountains and had booked in to a hotel on top of the A479 in between Talgarth and Crickhowell.
we had at our disposal -
2 x gsxr 1000
1 x 1200 bandit
1 x fireblade (brand new, 1 day old)
So basically we headed out from Brum and rode down to wales, got to the hotel, settled in and started getting pi££ed as you do!
Woke up the next morning, ready for a good days riding, went out to the bikes to start them up, only to notice the Blade had got a flat tyre, (bank holiday sunday) NOT GOOD!
Cutting a long story short, the AA came out, plugged the tyre and told us.....40mph max...and no more than 200 miles total before renewall. so my poor old friend, having just spent £7 - £8000 on his new blade, has now gotta shell out for a new tyre after just ONE DAY. And ask yourself where are you gonna get a bike tyre on a bank holiday Sunday in the middle of the welsh mountains.
Well....... after many calls made to just about every bikeshop, kwik fit, tyre sales, ATS, ect ect, we had no joy.
We did however have a bike showroom near to where we were staying... BLACK MOUNTAIN MOTORCYCLES. So we thought we had nothin to lose and rode down there to see if they could help.
So check this out.... we managed to pursade the manager to open up the garage, turn on the compressor, sell us one of his tyres and best of all, because it was sunday and he had no fitters, he let our friend on the bandit fit the tyre as he used to be a fitter some 10 years ago. Basically what im trying to say is,
BIG RESPECT TO BLACK MOUNTAIN MOTORCYCLES, YOU ARE BRILL.
So if ever your'e in the black mountains... check them out they're a real nice bunch of guys!.
