Hello,

My R1 ground to a halt in a mechanical cacophony this morning (Think the output shaft died of death)

After an enjoyable 4 mile walk pushing it to work, it's tucked up safe and sound.

Does anyone have a Van or Bike trailer that could do me a favour and take it from Maidenhead to Bracknell for me? No rush or anything... I can leave it at work for a while.

I don't fancy pushing it 15 miles home and although I could join the AA, that money would be better spent fixing it.

Cheers.

If you're struggling I'm pretty sure you could rent a van by the hour...

I could do it, but I'd want at least £60 as I live down in Sussex, maybe cheaper to hire a van mate.

Van rental will be the cheapest as you'd need more than the basic cover for the aa or rac as that will only take you to the nearest garage up to ten miles away.

If you join the AA, you'll have cover for a year after your rebuild too!

Cheaper than van hire innit?

I phone the AA find out how much it is. As least it's secure so I can wait a few days before it breaks!

From a conversation with the rac man who collected me on friday...

Make sure that you get a package where they will take you home and not simply to the nearest garage.

Don't tell them you've already broken down - you only get 10 miles to the nearest garage as per the basic package.

I suspect that after 14 years he's probably sorted now... laugh

If not I’ll be returning from Sussex to Herts after dropping off a bike Saturday, so will have the trailer….offer’s there if you’re still waiting OP.
