BMW Suspension
Discussion
Help! I've run a BMW K1100rs for 6 years on Bridgestone 020s. I know you don't think BMWs don't handle at the best of times, but previously I've had no problem keeping up with other bikes as an Advanced IAM/Ride-Drive Instructor.
However recently I've noticed the front end becoming dangerously vague. I've had the forks and fork seals, head race bearings and tyres and tyre pressures checked. There are no obvious leaks in the front forks. The bike is run on central BMW suspension as I am 16 stone solo. I have full luggage although it is mainly empty.
Symptoms: under slight acceleration the bars flap slightly, under faster cornering I don't know where the bike is going as it wander horribly, and at slow speed the front does not want to go in a straight line.
Any sensible ideas or recommendations for suspension specialists in the South London/North Surrey area?
Many thanks,
Tom
