Opinions please FM helmet
Discussion
I'm an indecisive bugger at the best of times so some opinions on helmets please.
Ok I've only owned 2 helmets- both Shoei's they fit my melon like head well and I'm happy with the cost & quality.
Present helmet is a '98 & is getting a bit battered & is set to become my car track day lid, so then I don't need to bash my new one on car roll bars etc.
Here is the saga- I love the look of the Magic roundabout Ronnie Smith FM jobbies, they are inexpensive at just under a £ ton & fits me ok, while the cheapest Shoei to replace mine is coming in at £179 and while I've nevr been into fancy paint jobs before- prefering plain colours, I feel like a change and the cheapest Shoei in the design I want is £300.
Man in shop reckoned the quality of the FM was shite & that he would rather lose a sale than see me go from Shoei to FM! stong words i felt but the the FM does have a noticably cheaper feel than my Shoei.
Thing is I only want the graphics and the fact that its the 'right' price is a bonus, (over £200 on a lid is to me just throwing away ya cash) I could of course get a Shoei & get it sprayed but that is a very expensive way to do it & if I had that sort of dosh I'd have my name down for one of those ltd edtion Arai Bazza Sheen replicas- (man I'd love one of those if anyone has a contact for them a lot cheaper than the £450 or so they are advertised at)
Excuse the long ramble, its been a long hot day & im having a beer or 3
-- Edited to add-
Ps, I don't belive in that if youve got a £100 head get a £100 helmet crap, as many mag tests have proven the only noticable difference between class A £500 Arais & £100 Class A's is trim & the quaity of fittings etc, crash protection is virtually the same.

I've always had Arai's cos i got a odd head and they are the only ones which fit! Lining in them is good too. Always had plain lids too, although before i bought my last Arai i did consider a designed one thing is they are quite a bit extra! I also wondered if i would go off it after a while? I got a Quantum F 4 weeks ago, new, boxed, and sent to me for £165 , i tell ya mate chuffed to bollocks i was, seeing as the azero or whatever it is is £320.
John Renalds and countless other racers thought FMs were okay for a while so they cant be that bad?

I've found the shoei to be much heavier, much noisier and the visor seal to be cr*p no matter how often I adjust it. I also hate the seat belt buckle type strap on the shoei with a passion.
