Chatting to a lad who took a gixxer thou on a road test & he rackoned he got somat like 93mph in first just as the limiter cut in!

I knew things like the Honda RC30/45's did this making them a pig in town, but can any Gixxer owners confirm this??

The world's a strange place at 12,500rpm in first. I have never looked at the speedo at that moment, but can tell you that as you grab 2nd, in the half a second or so it takes to look down, the digital speedo goes to three digits. MacLaren F1 - who needs 'em...

The gearing is high (and amazingly close). It is a bit of grumpy thing at walking pace, and you have to slip the clutch to make smooth progress, but due to the light weight and tight gearbox it is nothing like an RC45...

wouldnt know mate, i've not long had mine and to be perfectly honest when i do open the throttle that much the only things i'm trying to do are keep the front end down and control the old chocolate star fish!.... not look at the speedo.

I couldnt tell you what either of my own bikes does my bike does in 1st either to be honest & I've only got approx half a gixxer thou's bhp & still its easy enough to pop the front wheel up, so on the gixx it must be a nightmere!!

Oh well maybe I'll take one out on a road test & strap a video to the tank to record the speedo just so I know, but knowing my luck I'll smash both the bike & the camera up
