It's the last days of my annual leave & the weather promises to be ok.

Anyone in the Hants/Surrey area up for a blast - I'm going out later?
Promise not to be silly

If not, the weather is looking great this weekend - I'm gonna make the most of it - is there anything on?

Watch out for the BiB across there. I had a total nightmare on my last Welsh biking trip and have vowed never to go back to Wales on 2 wheels as a result. Our group was stopped 3 time in one weekend for no reason (i.e. we were not speeding nor riding dangerously), and we saw umpteen mobile speed traps too.

The BiB figured that pulling a group of bikers would inevitably lead to someone being done for an illegal can, tyre or number plate, so just made some random excuse for stopping us and then started pouring all over the bikes.

The harassment we suffered, and the general anti-bike attitude we received was very disappointing.

The roads are fantastic. The harassment is not worth it (IMHO).

Jeez Pesty two weeks without going out on your bike? That is not good mate. I cant go for a couple of days with getting out on my bike and wringing its neck.

Is there a therapy group that might be able to help me...

Sounds good 954 girlie , eerr maybe a Sunday (sorry couldnt resist it?). I'm going out on the 10th so maybe 17th although i have to work midmorning. Are we talking reasonably early, like 6am?

Know any good routes? There was a good one in i think T.W.O that went down the A24 and then across further into East Sussex. I'll try to find it .

Anyone else up for a early morning blast?

I've been through the last 4 months TWO mags to find the good route i mentioned but alas i cannot find it . I was almost certain that the route was there as i mostly buy TWO. I'll have to keep looking or could just sort another route.

Cant make the Lord Derby so maybe next month, havent been for a while now are their still loads of the old bill there?

The one I think you're looking for is Aug 2003, page 71?

My neck of the woods too - might be up for a run out but be warned, I've only been riding for a month so I'm slow.

Jeez it was really starting to p*ss me off . I guess i should have looked in August first Dooh! Ta.

Yep its the one i was thinking of. I cant speak for any others but but as far as i'm concerned you are more than welcome. It will be my first PH outing too. Wether your fast or slow doesnt matter, chances are you'll be quicker than me!

Do people want to meet at Boxhill? Anyone know the route? Is it the one you thought 954 Girlie? Any good places for Breakfast en route?

I think the route is A24 towards Brighton left to the A272 along pst Haywards Heath then down along the coast bast towards Petworth then back up to the A272 then home. Sorry i'm really not that sad knowing these rd numbers. If my memory serves me right isnt Meon on the A32 south of Alton?

I'm happy to go with the flow as the route after reading it last night may be quite a big one, 200 odd miles ish?!

Okay sounds like a plan! I'm easy with whichever route. I have a couple of guys i bumped into that i used to see at Chobham Roundabout that should be up for a blast. Still on for the 17th?

Er breakfast will be good might be an idea to get it en-route home as the 'filth' (great term!) will be about. Ex Mrs AJ prob would have got up to make sandwiches sadly she lives in Salisbury so may be a ride from Guildford i'm sure somewhere locally may serve bacon butties?!

Hiya guys and gals.

I'm well up for the early starter on 17th. Anyone mind if I lead the way though? The pace'll be racy, but'll not overstep the mark ;o)

I know a beautifully twisty route that takes us from Box Hill and immediately into the twisties towards Guildford. We can then take in Newlands Corner and then head briefly down the A25 through shere towards Cranleigh. At Cranleigh, we veer off towards the A281 and head towards Godalming before forking off to the left towards Dunsfold. Then through Plaistow and on the back roads towards Lickfold (lol). Then out onto the 272 and over Duncton Hill towards Bury Hill.

That'll be one entertaining ride. Anyone fancy that? come on, you'll love it.

So the final details are:

17th August
6am at Box Hill

I think the original plan was to head south. As i for one have done around Guildford quite a lot?

As for the pace old chap theremay be a few different paces as Skywarp said hes only been riding a month. More than welcome to come though.
