Hats of for shane Byrne and his win in the WSB and as a wild card en all.

Top Racing as usual, Reynolds had a bloody good ride en all.

Hodgson still gotta wait for the Title though.

Any one else watch it.

yep! good race by all the BSB boys and HM plant Ducati

Walker had some good battles in both races.

If Reynolds slipper clutch haddnt packed in for the first race it probably would have been a 1-2 for the wild cards!

Shane Byrne totally deserved both wins and I hope its got him noticed enough to get picked up for WSB next year. I can't really see him getting a full Ducati works ride and nicking Hodgson's place but I'd hope for maybe a Kawasaki (new ZX10RR) or Honda (new Fireblade) works ride, that way the new boy'll get a couple years learning the tracks while the bikes are developed and who knows maybe we'll see another British world champion after that. As for Monster Mob if they stay with Ducati I don't really think they'll be room for them alongside HM Plant and the factory in WSB, Paul Bird might have deep pockets but are they really deep enough to make it on the world circuit?

Mel from what I've heard about the rule changes next year there could be no factory team competing as they are pi$$ed off with the Flamini brothers (who run WSB) who although quite rightly have allowed the 4 pot 1000cc bikes bigger air restrictors to encourage more manufacturers and bikes. BUT and this is what they unhappy about, they have also said they will introduce a control tyre, something the factory entrant (well there's really only one factory team anyway, Ducati) are not happy about it. So there probably will be space for Monster Mob next year.

Conversely there's 3 top Honda teams in MotoGP this year, Repsol (3 wins), Camel (1 win) & Telefonica (4 wins). So there may not be a issue anyway since they seem to all compete well and win races.

Hodgson could be on his was to a 2nd string MotoGP Ducati next year with Bayliss if Ducati sign Rossi.

If's and but's, I know but there's one thing you can be sure of, it's not all going to be the same next year.

Anyway as you say to help[ finance their WSB dreams Paul Bird will have to sell more chickens and Monster Mob need to shift more mobile phone logo's

Excellent rides by Shakey, that must be the best set up Ducati 998, judging by the way it ran away from the ex-works bikes of Walker and Toseland. What happened to Walker's bike? From where I was standing it appeared to go into the crowd.

Shakey rides a 998 F02 Ducati same as Toseland & Walker (instead of a 998RS that the other Brits ride in BSB). Not sure if it's an Ex-Bayliss or Xaus bike though.

I dont think Honda factory will puit a team into wsb, but there is talk of a team financed by AMA, which will be jolly good indeed.

I also think rossi is tied in by contract to honda for next year, so ducati will have to put up with boring hodgeson who I believe will be quite outclassed in GP's.

Agreed that Shakey and the BSB boz did us proud. Just goes to show what a great series BSB is. With regard to BSB boys vs WSB machines might be last yrs models but the BSB lads have nothing to loose, no chapionship points no pressure. I couldn't believe how much pressure people put on Hodgson, he knew what everyone wanted of him was it really nessicary for people like Suzie P to pressurise him even as the horns blow to clear the grid. Same thing happened in foggys later days although a lot of his pressure was self imposed.

Without doupt Shakey if he can keep it up will be fantastic on the world scene. Nice that as a nation we have some great talent.

I dont agree with tl1000gussie though Hodgson may not be up there with Rossi in GPs but hes a v Smooth and consistant, as long as his confidence bubble doesnt burst i dont think we should knock him untill hes had a chance? Look at how Edwards (although bike still in development) and Baylis have got on on.

I was there for the 3 days and the BSB guys did put on a fantastic show ...

A for comparison's with WSB machinery ...

999's are both new to the circuit and therefor had no dry weather data to set the bike's up, and having been there for soaking practice on Friday and wet on Saturday they were always at a disadvantage.

Bear in mind that the BSB teams race the GP and Indy circuits at BH every year they have tonne's of data available to them. They were only at BH 3 rounds ago for the domestic championship.

Tyre's also play a part in this and how many Michelin runners did we see at the front of the pack ?? Only Xaus and Hodgson ... who were guessing which tyre. So was Byrne according to his interview ...

Would Hodgson cut it in GP's ...

Yes, I have no doubt given the right machinery and the time to learn the circuits he would be competitive. Bayliss and Edwards have already been mentioned.....

When you consider that Hodgson hassled both of them at most rounds in WSB last year on a bike 12 months out of date then I suggest when he's on it, he's as good as anyone else out there ...

Rossi is a magician on a bike ... but he's having it tough this year. If only Biaggi hadn't lost the front (similar to last year at 3 rounds !) it would have made for a fantastic finish.

Is it true that Biaggi is getting full factory machinery before the end of the year, or is it just a rumour .... Rossi must be sweating a bit about his contract

Well Jeremy Burgess (Repsol Honda) did say after the MotoGP race that Sete Gibernau is a very good racer "....and probably a good deal cheaper..." (than Rossi obviously). But I can't see Rossi being replaced or even in danger or being usurped as the top Honda man, they would have to be mad to upset him or he'll be off to Ducati before they can say cannelloni.
