I know Gixxer10000 is looking at doing this & myself & a few mates are thinking of it, just wondering if anyone on here has done it? comments etc

Seems reasonably pricy ( to skinflint me) at £235 for 3 sessions for the cbr-6 one (i think thats the premier package)

I looking for A- fun which i guess cbrs at donnington will certainly provide but im also trying to improve my cornering coz im woeful body positionin wise on lefthanders (i can never seem to feel as natural & comfortable as I am on rights) years of roundabouts i guess!

I looked into the California superbike school thing at Rockingham & although it does have a very good reputation its out of my budget.

Birthday present from my wife three years ago. It was the best experience of my life to date. Go for it, the guys make you feel right at home from the outset and really look after you well. You will get exactly what you want from the day if explained to the instructor. A good friend of mine recommended the day and also came along to share the experience, and on good reports my sister and her boyfriend attended very soon afterwards. Sis even got a flying lap on the back of Rocket Ron on the Blade!! Lucky Cow. I have done Cadwell Park many years ago and this knocked the socks off it as you will be riding around one of the best motorcycle tracks in the world with some great guys (Who you will not be able to touch) My instructor was on a Hornet entering Redgate with his knee down and one hand on the bars as he pointed to the second apex, with me struggling to keep up on a CBR 6 avec tweeks.

The next day I ached like hell, but it was well worth it. Got my knee down for the fist time at the Old Hairpin.

It's a bit pricey but well worth it, great instruction & you get to use their bikes (and kit if you need to).
Done it twice on the 600's - if I go again I'll do it on the blades.

I did the "advanced" course years ago (about five or six I think, so anything I'm about to say may be complete bollocks now days) when it first started, It was then targetted as a Race School and in order to go on the advanced course you had to have either worked up through their system or hold atleast an ACU clubman license. There was no real road relevant training and everything was focused on lines, turn in points etc. From a racers point of view it was superb and well worth it but I wouldn't expect to gain that much to improve your road riding.

When I did it Leon Haslam was this gangerly pre pubescent kid of about 12 who used to take the CBR600's out and stuff everyone on the blades, god that makes me feel old.

I think the Donington Ron Haslam school is a race / track school - If you are expecting roadcraft skills to be taught then you will be disappointed.
They have (or did have when I went) the 600's and the Blades (which was the advanced).
Personally, I got a lot out of it and was glad I did it before going out on an open track day. Worth every penny - and having Steve Plater as my 1:1 instructor was a bonus!!!

Cheers all, sounds like it could be good then, its track instrution rather than road craft I'm after in this instance anyway, as ive tracked my bike before but I feel that without the propper instruction I'm gunna either gunna go too fast for my abilities & maybe bin it, or just continue with my bad habits.

ps 954 girlie how was Nagaro? (sp?)
