I love the Bike but I got it to see if I could rekindle my original love of riding and whilst I enjoy it...... I always find myself reaching for the Ultima keys and then thinking "na should really use the bike" (I use them to commute).
I also have the exact opposite view as Herz with regard the safety at speed and feel so much more comfortable and safe in a car no matter what the speed.
Also I think it's a crime (with prison sentance) to own a bike with chicken strips on the tyres!

Would be a shame to sell such a cracking bike. Why not get yourself some advanced road and/or track training and get rid of those chicken strips - you may just start preferring it to the Ultima!
I often have the ... should I take the Cerbera or go on the bike dilemma. It's a nice one to have.
If I don't need to carry anything, and it's dry - the bike usually wins.

After 7 months I still have chicken strips on the tyres of my SVS too - for a few reasons:
1) Bike used for commuting only - mostly slow and upright stuff, use the TVR at the weekends
2) There are very few corners where I can lean the bike over that far because there's enough visility to do so safely
3) Most of the time there's a numpty in some other vehicle stopping me from enjoying these few corners
4) Confidence - I've got a lot to learn about this bike handling lark, it's all still quite new and there's a lot to it.
Hopefully these are normal reasons, but any pointers from those better than me are welcomed (that's most people right now!)

Steve - I use the R1 most days for my 100 mile commute into Chelsea. Roads are a complete mixture of fast, slow and v.v.slow
Confidence is the main thing. No point in trying to chuck a bike on it's side if you just chuck it into a hedge! The key, like most things, is to be smooth. You'll be amazed at how far a bike will lean over and you're still confident with the grip.
You do suffer a bit as the SV has a narrower tyre profile meaning to get to the edges you REALLY have to get it cranked over.
Failing that, get out the sandpaper
Lads, don't worry about chicken strips or sissy lines. You'll soon have the confidence to scrub them off, and if you don't - who cares. You're still fully-fledged bikers, and in my book that's all the counts.
Anyway, a decent motorway run, or lots of in-town riding and they'll reappear, so it's an ongoing thing.
Nothing beats a good blat around the countryside to scrub off the sissy lines though. There's a certain satisfaction to get off the bike and look at the rear tyre to see you've made it all the way over to the edge.
The GSXR comes with Michelins as standard and the edge of the tyre is embossed with tiny little Michelin Man fellows. It's a great feeling to rub those little critters off!

Track days chaps, you wont fail to get rid of those 'chicken Strips' if you're really on it you'll have lumps of rubber dripping off. Fantastic. Agree with Gixxer1000 though doesnt matter.
Did Brands a few weeks ago, my fav , with a couple of mates who had been out once before on other tracks, both of them got rid of their strips.
I find on the road if i take a racing line its v difficult to get to the edges anyway. Although i'm sure you are all quicker than me.
Whats important is big grin under the lid.
I for one will be doing more track days. You just cant beat the buz.

It's tough to compare the GSX-R with the Cerbera as the bike naturally feels MUCH faster due to being exposed to the elements. 0-60 (claimed) speeds are not that far apart however, and both are blisteringly quick. The Cerbera is quoted at 3.9 seconds 0-60, and I'm guessing the bike would be around 3 seconds. Top end the Cerbera beats,.... well pretty much anything this side of £100k with its 195+mph claimed top end (I have heard of owners actually reaching 190+mph - on the Autobahn of course). The GSX-R will top out at around 165-170mph.
Both are fantastic machines that need to be treated with much respect if you want to avoid crashing them - is I suppose my summary.

Cheers a j. I only wish I had chosen to wear their leathers too. I had my brand new Bostrom Alpine Stars two piece on, and whilst they held up well, I'm not sure they'd survive another spill. Still, I did save £400 on them in the Riossi collapse sale, so all's not bad.
At Mallory I overheard one of the instructors say "Edwinas again", refering to my spill. This is a chicane they put in to slow people down coming off Gerrards bend (the HUGE sweeping right hander), as they were getting too many accidents, but it seems Edwinas may be causing more that it saves! The instructor coming off at the same place in the afternoon seems to back this up.
Next track day is going to be the Ron Haslam school at Donnington (on CBR600s).

As the man said its hard to compare..... however I am much quicker in the car than the bike.
In a recent test by Autocar my car did 0-100 in 7.47 seconds with me driving on a slippery concrete surface. There was a Gixxer 1000 there too so when I have the figures we will have a direct comparison of same day same conditions testing.
Having played around last night on my way home (on the bike) The problem I have is missing the corner.... I think I'm going in too early on the bike and making too big an ark meaning if I play I end up anywere and everywere..... I nearly cruised into a hedge last night.
In a car I don't even have to think it is all just second nature.... on the bike its not, the more I try the less safe I feel.
I suspect a track day would help but due to an earlier high speed track incident were I was lucky to survive (in a car) I have promised I would never go on track on a bike!
Sadly it now resides on Autotrader!

Now that would hurt, nice leathers too, still adds character i guess? Thats what i tell my self any way (been off 5 (ish) times in mine!! Carrara leathers- indestructable unlike me!)

Seems a shame the have put "Edwinas" in to me. I used to enjoy comeing out of gerrards onto the Straight do a bit of dare devil overtaking on the brakes into the lake Esses! I liked flying (liberal use of word!) out of the Esses into the hairpin. Wasnt too keen on the left hander after the bus stop though.
I've thought about doing a Haslam day myself
