This is a subject dear to my heart i have an R6
and i do about 12 to 15 k miles a year at the moment im running BT020's on it but they are slippy on the track but last well
ive tried 010's but they are great but dont last

tyres ive tried are as follows
avon azaros st last 5K
Brigestones 020's Last 4.5 k
brigestone 010's last 1.5 k
dunlop 207's last 2k
battle axes OEM fitment lasted 3k but that included 1600 miles running in

so what do you all recomend im working on the winter milage ones so i can stick touring tyres on for the winter in sept oct and then change em for soft rubber in may till sept
your views please gents

For Winter michlin mcadam 100X hard as nails & pretty grippy 3.5-4k shouldnt be a problem in the winter on the rear. Ive got 'em on me bandit, not as grippy as the BT45's I used to run but they do last a lot longer.

Never tried 'em but for the summer the Pirreli Diablos get well raved about by my mate & came top in the recent MCN test

Is it worth the difference in cost getting something cheaper/longer lasting over the 010s compared to the amount you must be spending on petrol and servicing?

Mark

Thats an odd view Derny ma boy, I mean if the tyres are a similar cost lets say for argumants sake £120 for a rear and he gets 1.5K out of the 010's and 5k out of the Azaro thats just cost him (if ive worked it out right) £840 MORE per yr (assuming 15k pa)just to run on the 010's over the Azaros and this is just for the rear tyre.

A good & cheaper solution would be to buy some spare 2nd hand wheels and shove 010's on or even something stickyer for the track and use a harder tyre say the 020's/Azaros for his road miles.

Fair point, well made

I must admit I didn't notice that he only got 1.5k out of an 010 until just now... what the hell do you do to them?!

Mich Mac 90X on Bandit12 - 7k rear, 12k front (just about down to legal limit on front, rear swapped coz it squared) - not done any track days but they are great on the road.

I got 12k out of a 020 front and 10k on the back out of an 020, went to an 010 on the front as the 020 went a funny shape and was causing vibration, got more grip now as well.

Blimey I think we may have slightly different riding styles. I've got a lot less power & torque on a bandit 6 & I think get on average 3.5K on a rear & 5-6k on a front on the 90X's. (got 2k on a rear of Bridgestone BT45'S)

Just swapped to 100X & I'm trying to ride more sensibly nowdays so should get a bit more out of em.

I try to wear the tyre evenly across the whole width of the tread (if you see what I mean ) - what's the difference between the 90X and the 100X? I'm just about to have a new front put on...
