With the recent demise of Riossi, can anyone recommend anywhere to service my R1 in the Berks area?

If you want someone who is not a main dealer (and IMHO will give you a better service) then this chap is worth a call:
Gavin Reed - 07703 574592 - he is very near Stoke Mandeville - I have had work done on my blade by him - good service & a perfectionist.

If you *do* want a main dealer - then I can't help ya - don't trust em meself :-/ buncha pikeys the lot ov 'em

I used to us Probike in Newbury who were good and then the other place who are kind of ok but rude as hell and now I service my blade myself. I charge myself a nominal amount and can make myself as much coffee as I please.

The one firm who I would highly recommend is MTC based in the Oxford Road in Reading (Close to Reading West Bridge) Tel 0118 9393011.

If you get Mark to service your bike you won't get much better.

Mostly I do most bits myself or me mates do it, but got to give a huge recomend to Best of Bikes in Newbury, Suzuki main dealer (I think) but service all sorts.

Helped me a out a few times for which I was very greatful & I'd much rather give my cash to a small local company than a huge chain that forces the little guys out.

Hey Chris,

Bring it round to me, leave it for a week and I'll 'service' it for you

Apologies in advance if it needs new tyres afterwards.

Really? I didn't like them much I have to say.

Edited to add: apologies if you know them but really poor attitude in my view.

Dern, nope no connections there, i was just impressed with the service I got, so much so that I even sent an an e-mail to tell em after they helped me out as in general people are quick to moan but slow to praise.

They did 2 loads of favours for me and got no £ for it and even lent me an expensive ECU once to try out on trust that it turned out I diddnt need.

Anyway you ratbag, buying that old Westie not my Porker I might just have to come over & let the tyres down

Sounds pretty good. I bought a bike from the (a GPZ1100) and they were excellent while selling it to me and they did service stuff ok but the sales bloke and the service bloke seriously need to let off the miserable git double act
