cheers iguana it had to happen eventuly my sis has goggles so does my dad , I decided to get my eyes tested because i was finding it increasingly hard to judge corners etc in the dark when out on the bike , and also the saftey side of things , dont fancy being a danger out on the roads

Seriously, it ain't a problem. Small lenses are best tho'. I might change my user name. I think TorqueMonster will be good if I get the 400bhp Charger....

you could always go for contact lenses. I don't have a problem with them when I'm riding.

I can't stand wearing glasses - its a real pain in the arse I tried contacts once but couldn't get used to taking them in and out, might try them again sometime. When they are in, they feel ok and soon get used to them and the vision is miles better than with glasses

Andy when i had to read the eye chart without glasses i was hopeless , i didn't realise my eyesight had degraded by so much , just goes to show how we think that we are all ok , all i can say is that if you havent had your eyes tested recently get them done

When you go outside wearing glasses for the first time it's really weird - I felt like I'd shrunk because the ground looked closer! almost tripped over because my feet weren't used to moving the shorter distance It's also amazing to see all the extra detail that you've been missing, like the leaves on the trees etc.
Trouble is I went through all my school years without knowing I was short sighted so I probably missed a lot - that's my excuse for poor grades anyway

You did get plastic lenses didn't you? Don't want any bits of broken glass flying around in yer lid if you have an 'off'.

Denny - welcome to my world - I have worn glasses since I was 3 years old. I am very very shortsighted. My prescrption is MINUS 8.25 - which means unless it is two inches in front of my nose it is all blurry. I am too shortsighted for the laser op. Did have a motorbike when I was at college and found glasses a real pain especially in the rain. I had contact lenses for a while and didn't have any problems riding my bike with them in. I cannot wear contact lenses now either as I had an infection in one of my eyes (nearly went blind in it as well) so I am extra cautious now.

As I am so shortsighted I have High Index lenses so they don't look like bottle bottoms - at £400 a pair (just for the lenses - Zeiss Tital 1.9s) it gets expensive. And of course being a girlie I like to change my glasses every couple of years.

I've been "off" several times, no problem at all. The lid keeps 'em in place. No need to even straighten them! bit of a pain to remember to take them off before removing lid (ouch) !!

Welcome to the 4 eye club.
Started wearing specs when I realised all the cars I was filtering past on my way to work appeared to have double tail lights. Now I can read signposts before I get to a junction.
Its worth trying specs with the helmet to make sure they are compatible, the side padding on some lids squashes the arm of the specs and gets to be a bit of a pain in the head, literally, after an hour or so.
Bought an AGV lid this year which is great for keeping the visor from misting, trouble is my specs mist up now!
