France Map/Weather Gear/D12

I want a decent map of the French roads. It's got to be easily folded in the tankbag window but also be a decent scale to see backroad twisties and all villages.

Any recomendations?

Also whats the best combination of weather gear for touring. I got soaked yesterday but don't really like oversuits. Wearing full fabrics seems overkill. I like my leathers.

Finally to the guy on the ER500 [1] on the D12 just outside of Londinieres. You are a god.
