Not me the Bike!

Just did a service on the ZX6R and the Sproket looked a bit grungy (standard type - not a flash ally one). So I decided to give it a good scrub with a wire brush and spray it Black. No problems, looks great.

But now I can hear a very light whinning pretty much at all speeds. I thought I had the chain too tight so I slacked it off. Noise still there.

I don't think it is anything in the engine as you can still hear it when you pull the clutch in or if you free wheel it down a hill.

And no the noise wasn't there before I did the service.

Got any suggestions on where else I should look?

Any 's welcome

Did you lube the chain?
Did you get any bits of rag caught up? Have a look at the front sprocket to see if anything's mangled round there.
Have you knocked the chain guard slightly so it rubs?
Just a few ideas, hope you find the cause.

Thanks guys

I didn't knock anything whilst doing the service, and one of the jobs whilt in bits was to lube the chain and sort out the Scott oiler.

As for the output shaft, how would you check that?
