Bikesafe course with Surrey Police

Completed the BikeSafe Course (more of an observed ride than a "course&quot yesterday - £50 for the day and a burger at Ryka's!

Thoroughly enjoyed it - went to understand what I wasn't doing rather than to learn the basics. I was reminded about positioning the bike on road so as to take full advantage of the view ahead.

Majority of people (all blokes) were new comers or old bikers returning. The Bike Safe course has all the details. Very friendly, constructive group of people (police and trainers) and I'd recommend it to anyone whatever your ability as they pair you with anothe rider of your ability and an observer.

It might keep me a little more observant and therefore reduce the risk of an accident. Keep safe.

Did one this week with the met although was in byfleet...was a decent day nice weather and nice roads.was pretty tired at the end as not used to riding for 3 hours.was good to hear some things I need to improve on and ways I can improve my positioning.

I did one recently in Manchester and rode yesterday with a retired bike cop and a serving bike cop (not as part of a course). Made me nervous but I learnt probably 50% more experience just on one day.


I think it benefits anyone.

I did mine this time last year, they've been back up and running for a while!
