Denny.

Might I suggest avoiding the motorway route. A couple of weeks ago I went to Gaydon near Warwick using M4 Jcn 17 upto Malmsbury, Cirencester oop north via the old Fosseway etc. You can obtain some truely ballistic 59mph stretches, the sceneries not bad when stuck behind numpties although on the kwack I'm sure that's not an issue.

Going by car mate, but hopefully making progress at a similar rate as some of the more enthusiastic motorcyclists might achieve. Numpty quotient permitting of course.

I'm doing both days, if you're up for the saturday as well we may as well do a southwest convoy, it'll be a laugh.

Are there any bike friendly B&Bs near?

I'm not that keen on the outdoors thing, and lugging a tent down from Edinburgh on the mille is a non starter.

There's about 50 B+B's on the main road (B4632)from Stratford heading towards the PistonFest site (Across the river Avon, turn right at the Shell Petrol Station)- you could always take a chance en-route. Or alternatively, if you want to book somewhere in advance: www.hotels-in-england.co.uk/warwick/strat-avon.htm#jump
