SV650S CBR6 (FX) or even VFR750/800??

Just pondering a change and with a £3k budget these 3 bikes keep croping up.
I've always had unfaired simply as I have very little self restraint & unfaired does keep the speed in the sub ton most of the time, but it does make long trips at m-way speeds a bit of a slog & is no fun in the cold & whatso ever.
The SV is the strong contender coz as much as I love the yowl of a 4cylinder on a race pipe the throb of my mates Duke V twin is starting to swing me... I see it as a cut price Duke without the high costs & they do sound great with a noisy pipe (its got to be yellow too!) ok its no rocket but I'm sure it wil be as quick as my old hack Bandit 600 which I'd like to keep as well if pos. Dunno if the engine can take the abuse the indestructable Bandit lump can tho??
Yet despite me thinking the SV is just what I need for cheap insurable fun the CBR & the VFR just keep poping into my head.

SV is a nice handling bike (BTW if you're worried about Duke running costs see my post on "hooray it passed") they go pretty good and can be tuned with big bore kit (probably for less than the cost of a duke service!) they then can (just about) keep up with a 748 for a fraction of the cost. If your you're looking at the 1000cc version SV then I don't know much about'em but my mate has a TL1000R, same motor, which although a bit "lardy" is certainly fast.

Yip ive got a bud with a T595 and that triumph triple does sound sweet through a race can. My neighbour also has a T595 with underseat Duke 916 style exhaust that cost £1500! blimey thats half the cost of a T595 or nowdays!
Fave ride last yr in the Aural gratification sense was with mate on TL thou, mate on T595 & me on Bandit so a twin a triple & a four all on race cans all being ridden hard & such different exhaust notes, under bridges it sounded fan-flippin-tastic, mind you once the TL got a few revs up it drowned everything else out!!
My fave bike engine note- Aprilla 3 cyl GP bike at Donnington last yr, sounds like nothing on earth on the overrun. Mind you for road bikes the old 6 cylinder Honda (CBX's ?) sound great.

No probs just get that micra off your crash bar , it ruins the appearence of the bike

iguana, I have a yellow SV for sale - ad in the classifieds section - and it's been a brilliant little bike. They do sound awesome with a decent pipe on, if I were keeping it I would have been looking at the Renegade high-level or even the underseat job.
You'll get a newer SV than either of the CBR or the VFR. And if you want to stick to sub-100mph fun, you might find the other two will drag you into higher speeds whereas the SV is happiest at two digit speeds, above 100 it gets breathless very quickly. At normal road speeds, it's a great little engine with pull from 3k and really comes into its own between 7-9k, it doesn't need thrapping to get going quickly.
