Can anybody shed any light on this for me please?
Going along dual carriage way to work this morning at around 70 when the engine just stopped. Managed to coast into a nearby layby and had to leave it. Have plenty of fuel and electrics still work. Starter motor works but engine won't restart.

Do you have an alarm/imobiliser fitted? If yes, I bet a pound to a pinch of shit that is your problem.

Looks like you have now.
Very sorry that was no help at all. And after all the assistance that I've recieved on here I should be ashamed of myself.
Goes away to beat himself with a stick.
Actually recall the day the immobiliser on the car worked, in the Asda car park while I was supposed to be at work...

Happened to me on a cold morning once. The engine kill switch had been flicked off (I could only assume from the wind blowing a toggle on the cuff of my jacket).

Took bl00dy ages to find out what had gone wrong though, as it was a Ducati so you check out all major problems first!

very funny Tony. It was picked up by the bike mechanic this afternoon so hopefully I'll have it back in a couple of days.
