Roadcan now a Racecan :-)
Discussion
I have heard that some company (unknown to me) now make a Road legal Can that has a removable inner so that it is then a race can.
As if you get stopped on the road and r running in race can mode you dont have to change the can and get it tested and report to local plod, u just put the insert in.
I currently run a powerflow exhaust which is noisier than a standard one and gains a few hp's apperently but do like a noisy exhaust so i was wondering.
Who makes them, How much, anyone here got one,

Blue Flame Power Port can is what you are referring to.

They've been out for about a year, around £220 I think

Bugger all that spending money malarky, I just stamped the BS number on my race can. It seems to keep plod happy and its sailed through MOTs for the last 3 yrs with no probs yet at 12,000 she howls across 3 counties & spits flame on the over run. sweet....
1 MOT tester did comment it was a bit loud for a road legal can, but as it had the BS stamp it had to be ok.

Your dodgy number plate is bound to distract their attention I imagine

The kitemark is all but obsolete ,thanks to the EU it's now "e" marks,OEM fitment or marked with BSAU193 or BSAU193abut if it's stupidly LOOOOOOUUD!marks or not you could still have problems.IMHO get something noisy but not OTT mark it up neatly with BSAU193,if it's questioned deny all knowledge! You can't be called a liar,it infringes your human rights

As i said, not excessively loud .You CANNOT be interrogated on markings,it infringes your human rights.I kid you not!The Vehicle Inspectorate themselves are aware of this

No sure i totally agree with that Dunc.
Those markings are legal ones and if you are putting them on something that doesnt legally warrent them then surely that is somekind of FRAUD or trying to pervert the course of Justice.
With your remark then i presume we could all put a plate on our chassis to change Chassis numbers !!!! I think not.

I was going to mark my can up , but in the end couldnt be bothered just spent 2 hours with the dremel and polished out the Not for road use on the can , you cant even see where it was , just kkep the revs low in built up areas and you shouldnt get any hassle , been through a few towns late at night with plod following and they havent pulled me over yet , and thats with a flip plate as well !
When your stopped they normally tell u to get a certificate from an MOT station saying you have a Road legal on. hence u swap back to the original.
Have thought of having a racecan as they do sound the Muts ... but can't afford to loose my Licence or add points on due to the nature of my job,Thats why i have the Quill Powerflow one on.But was interested to hear about this newer ones with the inserts.
Mind you its getting bloody hard for anyone to keep a clean licence nowadays( god i feel old).

A friend of mine has a modified Ducati 888. It is the noisiest bike on the planet, but has standard cans on it. The engine was modified by Baines Racing who take the standard cans apart, sort out the internals and rivet them all back together - voila - standard e marked cans and noise !! His plan if stopped is to "act the daft laddie" on the basis that the cans are the standard ones when the bike was new and he cannot see the problem. I think the police would have a bit of a job on their hands to prosecute under these circumstances - and is it worth the paperwork anyway ??
