I rang up yesterday to book a service, to find out they’re closing the bike dealership & turning it into a used BMW car site. Some staff being kept on with the cars & others being made redundant.

Last day of trading is 31 December.

Feel sorry for the staff - always had decent service from them.

It always looked too big to me to just be a bike dealership. Where’s the next nearest BMW dealer going to be?

That’s really sad news. The Dealer Manager there used to joke that I was his number two customer, given the number of bikes and parts I bought over the years when racing and riding on the roads. The number one was Chris who owns the Sencat team in BSB now. It doesn’t seem five minutes since it opened up after taking over Southport Superbikes.

Is Williams Manchester still a Motorrad dealer?

Just down the road from Blackpool Honda, and not in a bad spot for test rides.
I live in Blackpool and have tended towards Honda simply because they're a decent dealership (there's also Raceways Yamaha in Fleetwood but I've not taken to recent Yamaha offerings). I've shied away from BMW because of the hassle of getting to Preston so this changes my options somewhat!

I passed Bowkers Mottorad Preston this evening and its already closed.
There were no bikes inside and the interior was being dismantled.
