Anyone got one, owned one? Thought and opinions please.

I was thinking of one for my wife. She loves Itchy Boots and might want to try some soft-roading on something small and light. To be fair they look like great fun!

Edit, added a pic.

Might be worth considering a van-van as well.

They don't make them here any more so she'd want something a bit newer.

If you're plodding, and I really mean PLODDING, they're ok. Very farm focused but simple, sturdy and pretty bullet proof.
The training school i used in Ottawa to do my M2 ran a fleet of them and they seem to take learner abuse pretty well.

You'll be lucky to find a 200 in the UK, not sure they were ever even sold here.

Seen a few 125 in a rough state selling for what I'd consider an unreasonably high price.

Both these and the van van do have a bit of a cult following though.

Ah, apologies!

In my search to find more info on the 200 I came across the Fortnine YouTube video, which he's undoubtedly also seen.

Very good review actually!

I don't think this would be fast enough, plus it looks a bit too scootery. hehe

Yeah, they're not cheap, but you can pick up a brand new TW200 here (Canada): https://www.yamaha-motor.ca/en/road/motorcycle/dua...

Agreed Steve, it just looks like good slow fun. Plus it is probably bulletproof.

I spoke to the guy at RTI when I was doing my M2 course and he really rated the TW.
Yes, they got them on a deal from Yamaha but they took the abuse from the weekly learners in their stride, needed next to no maintenance other than occasional oil changes and an air filter clean and having bars and pegs bashed straight from the umpteenth low speed drop in the training park. Obviously their size, tyres and power can be a limitation on the open road but
I think for the wife to potter around the usual open, sandy/loamy trail type terrain with you, you'd be hard pressed to do better.
