I've had a year back on 2 wheels now (after a break of 20 years) and am loving it.
My riding is generally Saturday morning fun in the Peaks or similar and I'm quite sensible with speed and overtakes but don't like to dawdle say at 40 in a 50 like lots of car drivers.
I read on here about dash cams a lot and wondered if its a thing that people are getting prosecuted for speeding, dangerous driving etc etc using the evidence from footage.

I never (or at least not very often) do anything that I’d consider dangerous.
However one thing I’ve stopped doing is overtaking on a solid white line even if I can see it’s perfectly safe. It’s a slam dunk if anyone has a dash cam whereas other things can be a matter of interpretation.
Some years ago just off the M1 towards leicester on a dual carriageway, some guy undertook me dangerously, narrowly avoiding me and another car in rush hour, then slammed his brakes on, opened his door, closed his door and sped off.
I sent the footage to the local police online. I heard nothing.
12 months pass and they inform me the driver failed to attend court and received IIRC 9 points and a hefty fine. I'd never bother even downloading footage of someone pulling out late at a roundabout etc, in fact since that one incident I don't think I've even removed it from the car since, it just records on a loop indefinitely for insurance purposes, which touch wood I've not needed.
However I've had a dashcam for so long now, I'm convinced that on the one day I remove it from the car, I'll get into an accident which could've been easily resolved with the dashcam. Sods law and all that.
