Hi, I part ex'd a bike I owned on PCP a week ago, the dealer would clear the existing PCP balance on the deal, I've had emails for DVLA and a tax refund on my old bike to say I no longe own it but the finance still has not been cleared on the bike by the dealers, I'm due to make another payment this week on the PCP (but I had already cancelled the direct debit as I thought it was cleared within a day or two) and the dealer is saying it takes up to 2 weeks for their accounts to clear the finance. Is this normal?

I’ve had this previously with my MT09SP it took the garage 3 1/2 weeks to clear the finance, I had to make another payment which was then refunded.

What exactly does it say on the Sales Receipt?

I wouldn't expect it to cost me another payment

They have the exact amount of the settlement figure all calculated into the sales invoice, however I am due to make another payment this week but I cancelled the direct debit thinking they cleared it asap. I'll speak to the finance company on Tuesday and see if I can delay making another payment for a few days, then end of the week should be 2 working weeks so hopefully its cleared, if I have to make another payment then I'll be expecting the dealer to reimburse me.

I think I'm correct in saying it's the finance company that would reimburse an overpayment.

Thats fine, thanks for that, I'll ring them on Tuesday and make a paymen then, who knows maybe the dealer has cleared it by then.
